British students at the Globe

On Thursday 22nd May the Globe welcomed a group of Year 9 teenagers from West Exe Technology college for some conversation practice with a group of students from College St Joseph Caen in France.
The British teenagers were accompanied by the Head of Modern Foreign languages, Miss Vicky Edgecombe.
The session was led by Miss Edgecombe and our teacher Mr Arien Roberts
For the first 30 minutes the students did a variety of activities in English and for the last 30 minutes they practised their French speaking skills.
The workshop was excellent and gave both sets of students the chance to practise their language skills and find out about each other.
Topics covered included hobbies, family, countries visited and the differences between French and British schools.
At the Globe we try to promote as much liaison as possible with local schools, in order to give our students the chance to meet English teenagers of their own age and the opportunity to practise their communication skills.
Hopefully, this is just the first of many more similar activities to come.
