Adult Social Programme

Studying English also means learning about England, discovering the country and meeting the people - our Social Programme will give you these opportunities and more. It also gives you a chance to get to know the teachers and the other students better and to make new friends. Leisure is an important part of learning and the Globe social programme is the perfect starting point for exploring the South West and settling in to this new environment.

Adult social programme

The Adult activity programme is optional and all events and trips are subsidised by the school so that it is excellent value. Students are welcome to book for the events of their choice. The events include trips to local landmarks such as Killerton House and the seaside town of Exmouth, as well as famous tourist destinations including Salisbury and Stonehenge, Oxford, Cornwall and of course - London.

We also offer other activities such as cooking sessions, quizzes, board games, billiards, table tennis competitions, parties, pub nights and barbecues. If you wish to spend an afternoon/evening out, Exeter can offer theatres, cinemas, traditional pubs, concerts, visits to local businesses, breweries and historic monuments. You can also take part in deep-sea fishing, pony trekking, ballooning, and literary trails (Agatha Christie, Charles Dickens) in the local area. We can help you make you make the most of your trip with suggestions and help in organising any activities that take your fancy.

Families at the Globe

If you are studying at the Globe along with your children, you are very welcome to join their activities - these include excursions to various adventure parks, as well as places of historical significance. The excursions are charged at cost price and are subject to availability. You can find more information on  the Junior Social programme page.

If you have any questions about the adult social programme, please contact us on and the Globe team will be happy to help.
