Group Discovery Programme

A communicative and interactive General English course, designed to activate passive knowledge and build confidence. Classes are 75% speaking and listening and focus on the use of natural English to develop communication skills. Lessons combine original and authentic materials to engage and challenge students, while tasks and projects foster creativity, independent learning and study skills.

The activity programme offers a combination of culture, sport and fun to make the most of what the SW has to offer.

Ages 11-18
20 lessons per week
Max class size 20, average 14
All levels: A1 - C2
5 afternoons of cultural activities
1 Social evening
Optional weekend excursion

Exam Preparation Programme

A communicative & interactive course focusing on exam techniques, while developing confidence & fluency. We can prepare students for all Cambridge exams (IGCSE, KET, PET, FCE, CAE and CPE), IELTS and Trinity GESE or ISE. Lessons are designed to suit the participants and their needs. Optional Reading & Listening mocks can be integrated into lessons or taken after class.

21 hours of exam preparation
Maximum class size 14
Programme includes 2 afternoons of cultural activities & 1 social evening;
Optional weekend excursion.
Optional 22.5 hour course (90 minute lesson every afternoon) with optional mocks & activities after lessons

Future Careers Programme

A vocational course combining both general & vocational English with work related visits/talks on students’ area of expertise The course focuses on the language & skills needed to succeed in the 21st century. Lessons are tailored to suit students’ areas of interest and give students practice in speaking & listening to develop confidence, broaden vocabulary & improve communication skills.

Curriculum Programme

This academic course is designed to complement subjects in the school curriculum, such as Literature, History & Geography. Students will improve their language, develop confidence, broaden subject vocabulary & improve communication skills. Tasks & projects foster creativity, independent learning & self-study skills.

Course facts:

Sample Subjects: Literature; History; Geography.
Lessons can be tailored further to focus on specific interests eg Dickens. WW1 Poetry, the environment. The Victorians, Agatha Christie etc

Group Explorers Programme

A topic-based course designed to help students develop their language skills while learning about the world around them.

Lessons are interactive and fun, and use hands-on activities such as Music and Drama, and Arts and crafts to engage and motivate young learners.

Tasks and projects foster creativity and independent learning. The activity programme links to the topics and reinforces learning outside the classroom,

while building confidence and having fun.
